Overview

The magnetic platform lock secures the build platform during printing. If the lock becomes loose, damaged, or does not properly secure the platform, it should be replaced. This guide walks through safe removal and installation of the magnetic lock assembly.

Step 1: Remove the Build Platform

1. Unlock the build platform.
2. Pull it forward to remove it from the printer.
3. Set it aside in a clean, safe area.

Step 2: Remove the Red Knob

1. Hold the red knob firmly.
2. Pull it straight upward to remove it from the lock assembly.

Step 3: Remove the Magnetic Lock

1. Using a 2 mm hex wrench, remove the four screws securing the magnetic lock mechanism.
2. Carefully lift and remove the lock assembly.

Step 4: Install the New Lock Assembly

1. Inspect the knob assembly before installation.
2. Position the new magnetic lock with the UNLOCK text facing left.
3. Ensure the notch is facing toward you.

Step 5: Complete Installation

1. Using the same 2 mm hex wrench, reinstall the four screws.
2. Tighten securely without overtightening.
3. Press the red knob back onto the lock.

Note: The knob stem has a plus-shaped profile. Make sure the plus sign aligns with the inside of the knob before pressing it fully into place.

After installation, test the lock to ensure the build platform secures and releases smoothly before resuming normal operation.
