Overview

The UV lid magnet ensures the printer correctly detects when the protective hood is closed. If the magnet becomes loose, damaged, or detached, the printer may not recognize the lid as closed, preventing operation. This article outlines how to safely remove and install a replacement magnet.

Remove the Old Magnet

If the old magnet is still present:

1. Use your finger to gently lift and remove the magnet from the lid surface.
2. Ensure any remaining adhesive residue is removed so the surface is clean and smooth before installing the new magnet.

Install the New Magnet

The replacement magnet includes pre-installed double-sided adhesive.

1. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive.
2. Position the magnet in the same location as the original.
3. Press firmly for several seconds to ensure full adhesion.

Allow the adhesive to fully bond before closing the lid and resuming printer operation.
