Pro: Red UV Hood Replacement

How to safely remove and replace the red UV hood on your SprintRay printer.

Overview

The red UV hood protects the print area from ambient light and ensures safe printer operation. If the hood becomes damaged or cracked it should be replaced. This guide outlines the steps to remove the existing hood and install a new one.

Before You Begin

• Power off the printer.
• Remove any printed parts.
• Ensure the work area is clean and stable.

Step 1: Remove the Resin Tank

  1. Place the lid securely on the resin tank.
  2. Remove the tank from the printer to prevent accidental resin spills.
  3. Set it aside in a safe location.

Step 2: Remove the Hood Disc

  1. Using a hex wrench, remove the four screws securing the hinge disc on one side of the printer.
  2. Remove the hinge disc.
  3. Repeat the process on the opposite side.

There is one hinge disc on each side of the printer.

Step 3: Remove and Install the New Hood

  1. Pull the hood forward to remove it from the printer.
  2. Position the new hood in place.
  3. Ensure the hinge aligns properly with the printer body.

Step 4: Reattach the Hood Disc

  1. Using the same hex wrench, reinstall the four screws on the hinge disc.
  2. Tighten securely without overtightening.
  3. Repeat for the other side.

Once both hinge discs are secured, confirm the hood opens and closes smoothly before reinstalling the resin tank and resuming operation.
