Pro S: not Detecting Build Platform

What to do if a Pro S is not detecting a build platform

Overview

If the Pro S cannot detect the build platform, it will not allow a print to begin. Detection depends on proper seating, the magnetic lock, and clean metal contacts. Follow the steps below to identify and correct the issue.

Check Connection

Ensure the build platform is:

• Fully seated on the Z-axis arm
• Locked into place using the red magnetic knob
• A compatible Pro S build platform

A platform that is not fully locked will not be detected.

Inspect Metal Contacts

The Pro S uses two metal contacts to confirm platform presence. Check:

• The contacts on the underside of the build platform
• The contacts on the platform arm inside the printer

If you see dust, resin, or debris:

• Clean both contact points with IPA (91 percent or higher) and a cotton swab

If the contacts appear damaged or worn, contact SprintRay Customer Support.

Try a Different Platform

If you have another compatible platform:

• Install the second platform and lock it in place
• Check whether the printer now detects it

If the second platform works, the original platform may require replacement.
