Pro & Pro S: Not Appearing in RayWare Desktop

This article explains what to check when your Pro or Pro S does not appear or connect in RayWare Desktop.

Overview

This guide explains what to check when your Pro S is not showing up in RayWare Desktop and how to resolve the most common connectivity issues

Check Network

RayWare Desktop can only discover printers that are on the same local network as the computer. On the printer, go to Settings > Connectivity and confirm the active network.

On your computer:

Windows: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the lower-right corner to see the connected network.
Mac: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the upper-right corner to verify the network.

If the printer and computer are not on the same network, reconnect one of them and try again.

Add a Firewall Exception (Windows Only)

Windows Firewall may block RayWare Desktop from communicating with your printer. Adding a firewall exception resolves this.

  1. Press the Windows key and type Allow in the search bar.
  2. Select Allow an app through Windows Firewall.
  3. Click Change Settings.
  4. Scroll to RayWare in the list.
  5. Check all boxes next to RayWare to allow communication.
  6. Click OK to save.
  7. After updating the firewall settings, reopen RayWare Desktop and check if the printer appears.

When to Contact Support

If your printer still does not appear after confirming the network connection and adjusting firewall settings, contact SprintRay Support for additional assistance.
