    • Pre-op smile design for approval (within 3 business days after submission)

    • A conventional denture you can print as a backup appliance
  • Requirement: Appointment scheduling in SprintRay Cloud to reserve designer availability

Workflow Overview

Phase 1: Pre-Op Visit (First Appointment)

  1. Acquire pre-op patient data:
    1. Upper and lower intraoral scans, or scans of an existing denture
    2. Bite registration (set dimension with leaf gauge or reline denture if collapsed)
    3. Clinical photos
  2. In SprintRay Cloud Design:
    1. Select patient and create a New Hybrid Denture Treatment.
    2. Schedule an appointment for the day of surgery (time when postop data will be uploaded).
    3. Upload scans, photos, and fill in treatment details.
  3. Submit case.

Phase 2: Smile Design (Between Appointments)

  1. Within 1–3 business days, you will receive:
    1. A Smile Design proposal (via exocad viewer link) for aesthetic review.
    2. An immediate denture design for backup use.
  2. Review in 3D, then message the designer with approval or requested changes.

Phase 3: Day of Surgery (Second Appointment)

Data Acquisition

  1. Place fiduciary markers:
    1. Upper: at least 2 markers in the palate
    2. Lower: at least 2 markers in the retromolar pad area
  2. Capture post-op scans:
    1. Upper and lower arches
    2. Bite registration
  3. For implant position:
    1. If using Optisplint: Place temporary healing caps → scan → place scan body wings in implants → torque in place → lute together and scan intraorally or externally with scan plate.
    2. If using Photogrammetry: Place Domino scan bodies in implants and capture images with photogrammetry device.

Submitting Post-Op Data

  1. Return to SprintRay Cloud Design, open the scheduled hybrid denture case.
  2. Message the designer and upload the post-op data.
  3. Confirm this corresponds to the appointment time.

You may request an ETA from the designer at this stage.

Phase 4: Design & Approval

  1. The SprintRay designer will process your case and deliver the final hybrid denture design within 30–45 minutes.
  2. You will receive an email notification with a link to review in the exocad 3D viewer.
  3. The 3D viewer allows you to inspect implant locations, orientation, and prosthetic design.
  4. Once satisfied, click Approve File.
  5. The approved file is ready for printing and post-processing as a same-day hybrid denture.

Key Tips

  • Always schedule your appointment in Cloud Design so a designer is available on the day of surgery.
  • Smile Design approval is required before day-of surgery work can proceed. Approve at least 3 business days before surgery.
  • Fiduciary markers are mandatory: minimum of two each for upper and lower.
  • Use Optisplint or photogrammetry properly to capture precise implant positions.
  • Always keep the backup immediate denture design ready in case the hybrid denture cannot be delivered on the same day.
