Pro Wash/Dry: Overview

A two-stage automatic wash and dry system for post-processing SprintRay 3D printed parts.

Overview

Pro Wash/Dry is SprintRay’s first fully automated cleaning system designed to streamline post-processing for dental 3D printing. It performs a two-stage wash followed by a dry cycle, delivering clean, dry parts in approximately ten minutes. The system uses mechanical jetting to remove uncured resin without requiring full submersion in IPA.

The Pro Wash/Dry minimizes manual handling of solvent, reduces waste, and provides a consistent, and a repeatable workflow.

Key Components

Wash Chamber

The central wash chamber supports both platform washing and basket washing. Mechanical jetting circulates IPA around printed parts for efficient cleaning.

Dual IPA Reservoirs

Pro Wash/Dry uses two solvent chambers:

  • Chamber 1 for the primary wash
  • Chamber 2 for a second rinse

Automatic pumps move IPA between chambers during each stage.

Mechanical Jetting System

A high-speed motor spins a precision propeller to agitate IPA at over 10,000 RPM, enabling fast, effective cleaning with as little as 500 mL of solvent.

Touchscreen Interface

A built-in touchscreen allows users to start cycles, create custom wash cycles, and update software.

Hydrometers

Each reservoir contains a precalibrated hydrometer:

  • Sink = IPA is clean
  • Float = IPA is saturated and needs replacement

Quick-Connect Drain Port

A dedicated quick-connect hose provides a clean, controlled way to drain and recycle IPA.

How Pro Wash/Dry Works

1. Load Parts

Users can wash directly on the build platform, or place loose parts in the included basket.
The unit automatically detects which method is being used.

2. First Wash

Mechanical jetting circulates IPA from Chamber 1 across the printed surfaces to remove a bulk of the resin.

3. Second Wash

The system automatically transfers IPA from Chamber 2 for a cleaner second wash to help ensure the print is clean.

4. Automated Drying

After washing, air circulates through the chamber to dry parts completely before post-curing.

Supported Wash Methods

Platform Wash

The build platform is placed directly in the cradle.

Basket Wash

Recommended for:

  • Tall models
  • Hollow or shell models
  • Multiple loose parts
