Pro Wash S: Drain Port Replacement

How to remove and replace a faulty drain port on ProWash S.

Overview

The drain port on the ProWash S may need replacement if it becomes stuck, leaks IPA, or no longer locks the drain hose securely. This guide walks you through safely removing the old port and installing a new one. Replacement ports come prewrapped with sealing tape and must be installed exactly as provided.

When to Replace the Drain Port

A drain port replacement may be necessary if you experience any of the following:
• Drain port stuck in the open or closed position
• Drain hose does not lock into place
• Constant IPA leakage from the drain port

Replacement drain ports can be purchased from the SprintRay Store.

Before You Begin

Replacement drain ports arrive with white plumbing (Teflon) tape prewrapped around the threads.
Do not remove this tape.
It creates the watertight seal required for proper installation.

Drain the Affected IPA Chamber

  1. Retrieve the drain hose attached to the back of the ProWash S.
  2. Connect it to the drain port and fully drain the chamber.
  3. Wipe the area beneath the drain port to remove any IPA residue.
  4. While the chamber is empty, scrub it using the included cleaning brush and dry it with clean paper towels to remove debris or sediment.

Prepare the Replacement Drain Port

  1. Open the SprintRay replacement kit.
  2. Inside you’ll find two drain port quick-connect assemblies and a dual-sided wrench.
  3. Remove the protective wrapping from the new port, taking care not to disturb the white Teflon tape on the threads.

Remove the Faulty Drain Port

  1. Use the 19 mm side of the included wrench and place it on the inner hex nut closest to the red plastic housing.
  2. Turn counterclockwise to loosen.
  3. Once loosened, continue unscrewing the port by hand until fully removed.
  4. If any old sealing tape remains in the threaded opening, remove it using tweezers.

Install the New Drain Port by Hand

  1. Inspect the white Teflon tape to ensure it is intact and undamaged.
  2. Insert the new drain port into the threaded opening.
  3. Turn clockwise by hand until fully seated and hand-tight.

Tighten the Drain Port with the Wrench

Once hand-tight, use either the 19 mm or 22 mm wrench end to tighten the drain port fully.
• Use the 22 mm end if space around the rear nut is limited.

Tighten until secure, but do not overtighten, as this may damage the chamber.
