Editing and Adjusting Print
Once your print is prepared, you’ll land in Autopilot mode by default. In this mode, Print Setup has already applied all recommended settings for orientation, nesting, supports, and mesh adjustments. The print is ready to go without any additional changes.
If you want to make custom adjustments, you’ll need to toggle Autopilot Off. This unlocks a full set of editing tools for manual control.
Tool Categories Breakdown
Once Autopilot is turned off, the following tool categories become available:
Orientation
- Tools in this section help reposition or rotate your print manually. Use this if the default orientation isn’t ideal for your specific workflow or fitment needs.
Supports
- Support structures help keep the print stable during the printing process. By default, supports are set to Balanced, which uses an easy tear-away style. You can adjust support behavior using the following options:
- Max Strength – Adds thicker supports for high-strength requirements.
- Max Density – Increases the total number of supports across the print.
- Add/Remove Individual Supports – Allows precise support placement or removal. This is helpful for avoiding sensitive areas like labels or screw channels.
Mesh Edit
Use this section to modify or clean up scan data. Tools include:
- Plane Cut Tool – Trims a flat section off the model.
- Bracket Removal Tool – Designed to clean up unwanted bracket features.
- Posterior Bar Tool – Adds or adjusts a posterior stabilization bar. This helps to enhance the accuracy for prints, especially when printing vertical.
- Auto Mesh Repair Selected – Automatically patches missing data in raw scans. This tool can also generate a printable base if the scan doesn’t include one.
Layout
- Click Auto Layout All to automatically space out all items on the platform. This helps optimize the arrangement for a successful print.
Label
- This tool allows you to add a label directly onto the print. You can:
- Choose Emboss or Deboss styles
- Adjust label size using the Scale Tool
- Labels are useful for keeping track of patient names.
Resize
- Use this to manually scale the selected print up or down. This is often used when fine-tuning fitment or adjusting imported scans.
- After making any changes, always click Confirm Changes to apply and save your edits before sending the print to the printer.
Working with Multiple Platforms
You can manage and print multiple platforms in the same session:
- Under Files, Use the platform ribbon to add or remove platforms.
- Click the plus icon (+) to create a new platform. Then select an appliance type and print profile.
- Upload STL files either from your Cloud Drive or your computer.
To remove all jobs across platforms, use the Delete All Jobs option
Sending to Printer
When you're ready to print:
- Click Send to Printer.
- Print Setup will display all printers connected to your Dashboard account that are compatible with the selected job.
