Midas: Capsule Explained

Understand the components of the Midas Capsule and how it functions during printing.

Overview

Midas uses an all-in-one Capsule system instead of traditional resin tanks and reusable build platforms. Each Capsule contains the material and print surface required to fabricate restorations. There is no resin pouring, no tank management, and no separate build platform handling. Everything needed for the print process is self-contained within the Capsule.

All-In-One Midas Capsule

Unlike conventional 3D printing systems, Midas does not require:

  • Pouring resin
  • Cleaning or swapping resin tanks
  • Managing a reusable build platform

Each Capsule includes the resin, optical interface, and integrated print surface required to produce strong, aesthetic restorations in a streamlined workflow.

Warning

Do not touch, push, or manually compress the resin press. Doing so may damage the Capsule or affect print performance.

Resin Press

The top end of the Capsule sits beneath the Midas print arm.

During printing:

  • The resin press is gradually compressed as material is dispensed.
  • This controlled compression enables the printing process.

Safety Film

On the bottom of the Capsule is an optical window covered by a thin protective safety film.

  • This film protects the optical surface during shipping and handling.
  • The film must remain in place until after the Capsule has been scanned.

Important:
Do not remove the safety film before scanning the Capsule.

After a Print

When the print job is complete:

  • The build platform side of the Capsule will rise automatically.
  • The restoration will be attached to the integrated build surface inside the Capsule.

At this point, you can proceed with removal and post-processing according to the material’s Instructions for Use.
