3Shape Produce Integration Setup and Usage

Learn how to set up and effectively use 3Shape Produce for streamlined dental workflow integration.

Follow the steps below or follow along with the video to learn how to set up a 3Shape Integration.

  1. Check 3Shape Produce Availability
    3shape Produce is required for this integration. By default, it is available in the following 3Shape products:
    1.  TRIOS Design Studio – anatomical restorations
    2.  Implant Studio – surgical guides
    3.  Splint Studio – occlusal splints
    4. Model Builder Express – models
       
  2. Update 3Shape Unite (Version 24.1.8 or higher)
    Check that you’re using the latest version of 3Shape Unite. Visit the 3Shape Unite webpage to learn more.
     
  3. Download & Install the SprintRay Produce Service Gateway
    1. Download SprintRay Produce Service Gateway 
      The SprintRay Produce Service Gateway acts as the bridge between 3Shape Produce and SprintRay Cloud. You’ll need to repeat Step 3 on each computer you’d like to integrate with SprintRay. 
      On the computer you’d like to use the integration on, click the link below to download the SprintRay Produce server: https://download.sprintray.com/3shape 
    2. Install the SprintRay Produce server 
      Run the installer for the SprintRay Produce Service Gateway. When prompted, check the box ‘Automatically start SprintRay-3Shape Produce Service.’ 
      Follow the instructions to activate SprintRay Produce under your SprintRay account. Restart your computer. 
    3. Use 3Shape + SprintRay Produce 
      Check that the SprintRay Produce Service Gateway is running in the icon drawer when your computer restarts. 
      Make sure to leave the SprintRay Produce Service running. If you close it, the integration will stop working until it is reopened. Verify that it is running as shown in the image below.
       
  4. Using the integration
    1. Add your SprintRay printer in Model Builder 
      Open Model builder. Click on “Machine Setup” and select you SprintRay Printer.
    2. If the SprintRay Produce server is running, the connection icon will be green, and the ‘Send/Resend’ button will be active. A SprintRay icon will be visible in the taskbar.

 

6. Send your files to SprintRay 
Inside Model Builder, find the file you’d like to print. Click the blue ‘Send/Resend’ button. After a few moments, a new browser window will launch, taking you to the SprintRay Print Center. 
First time this happens you will be asked to confirm the integrations code. Make sure you are logged in to your SprintRay account first and follow the prompts.

  1. The first time you send a file to SprintRay, make sure you are signed in to your SprintRay account. You will be asked to complete a brief validation process. Follow the onscreen prompts shown below. 
  1. Set up your print job 
    Use Print Center to confirm the job details, then send for printing. To make changes to the print job, click the ‘Setup’ button. 

 

Your integration has been successfully set up and is ready for use!
 

  • Note: Not all design modules from 3Shape Produce are compatible with SprintRay. Check each module for compatibility. 
     
  • To remove the connection between 3Shape and SprintRay, execute the following command from command prompt on the system running 3Shape Produce: 
    del /Q /F *.* %LOCALAPPDATA%\SprintRay\DesktopSDK
